Experience
I have several years (1990-1999)of experience teaching English in Italy in both individual and groups settings. My clients ranged from young children to business executives. I did very well on both the SAT and ACT tests. I was rewarded a a Regent's scholarship. However, it was so I cannot recall the numbers. I enjoy helping people in the areas I know very well. It is deeply gratifying to me to assist in their success. Along with intensive coursework in liberal arts, including philosophy, world literature and history, I am a lifelong student myself with a grand curiosity to discover and study topics that attract my interest.

Hobbies
Travel is my #1 interest. I've been to many wonderful and diverse places, yet still have a bucket list a mile long. Wherever I find myself, I take in the local culture to really get the most of my experience. Actually, that is characteristic of all of my interests. I would describe myself as an NPR nerd and typical Liberal Arts major; I'm applying to be a tutor! My approach to tutoring is the core belief that some people have a very difficult time absorbing material (me:math) that other find quite effortless. I intuitively determine the pace that will best ensure success and although I am decidedly patient, I do hold the student accountable. I also understand the importance of levity and humor as tool to alleviate stress and anxiety.
